Final UT environment

Keith Campbell's Lab
"..being able to image a particular organelle within an embryo within a cell and that really excites me"
The lab draws upon relationships between parts of matter. Within science one is able to explore these connections and discover what the nature of connections are in everything around us. Within this architecture Campbell conducts his scientific studies and is able to explore the space inside of it. The sloped beam reminds us of the relationships science strives to find that make us understand our world.

Ramps leading up to Campbells upper lab.
The interwining of the ramps resembles a DNA-like shape. The texture on the ramp is the symbol for an equilibrium chemical reaction, which is essential for understanding chemistry.

Meeting place
Looks out to the outside environment, reflecting the nature of what science is all about. The texture suggests the idea of brainstorming threads of thought.

Jacques Cousteau's Ramp
"..man carries the weight of gravity on his shoulders. He is bolted to the earth. But man has only to sink beneath the surface and he is free."

Taken in a literal manner, Cousteau's lab is deep underground where he reaches an open spaced area. This gives him room to let his mind be set free and allows him to conduct his research in peace and quiet. I also liked the idea of a mad scientist living underground having all kinds of crazy ideas and running with them.

Cousteau's Lab
The architecture within his lab could be for him to store his ideas in paper form or otherwise. The purple could also be a symbol of Jacques Cousteau's nature, reminding one of peace, through his environmental conservation projects.
